Initial Survey

When you contact us, we will book you in with one of our designers for a free survey of your home. During the survey, we will measure your home's individual rooms, discuss with you where the heat pump could be placed and also answer any questions you may have. We do not use a sales team so your surveyor will be an expert in heat pump technology and will be able to explain exactly how the system will be designed, installed and maintained.

Heat Loss Calculations

Once the survey is complete, our designer will conduct a heat loss calculation to determine the perfect size heat pump for your home and establish if any of your radiators will need to be upgraded.

Quotation

When we have completed the heat loss calculations, we will provide you with a detailed quote, contract, deposit insurance leaflet and a performance estimate to help you make an informed decision. We do not pressure you to sign up immediately and you will have 30 days to consider our quote. If you have any follow up questions at this stage, we are more than happy to answer these.

Acceptance

Once you are happy to accept the quotation, we will book a convenient installation date and take a refundable deposit. This deposit will be insured with our deposit protection insurer.

Installation

On the first morning of your installation, all materials will be delivered to your home and we will begin installing the system. If you are having your system installed in the winter months, we will prioritise your hot water cylinder to ensure you are not without hot water for long and we will leave you with portable heaters throughout the duration of your install. We treat your home as if it were our own and will cover your carpets, vacuum after completing work in each room and clean up each evening before leaving.

Handover, & Aftercare

Once complete, we will carry out a full handover with you, explaining how the system will work and how to control it. We will provide you with all the documentation needed to use your system and if you have any problems, we will be here to help. We provide a 2 year workmanship guarantee and your equipment comes with an extended warranty for your peace of mind.

FAQs

  • Can a Heat Pump Replace My Gas Boiler and Provide Hot Water?
A heat pump is designed to provide 100% of your home's heating and hot water needs so yes, it will replace your gas boiler. It will work with either radiators or underfloor heating and will use a hot water cylinder to provide your hot water.
  • How Much Space Do I Need to Install an Air Source Heat Pump?
The heat pump unit itself will be placed outside your home, preferably against a wall. The size of a heat pump varies but as a general guide it will be around 1 metre wide and 1 metre high. You will also need space inside your home or in a garage or outhouse for a hot water cylinder. Your heat pump engineer will discuss with you where the equipment could be sited during an initial consultation.
  • Are Air Source Heat Pumps Worth it?
Yes, they are worth the investment. Air Source heat pumps are eco-friendly and very efficient when designed properly, helping you to reduce your energy bills whilst protecting the environment. They are safe as they do not emit harmful carbon monoxide and also require minimal maintenance. Although they can be more expensive to install, a government grant is available to help reduce the initial outlay.
  • Will My Energy Costs Drop With an Air Source Heat Pump?
Yes, air source heat pumps should reduce your energy bills. Air source heat pumps have a reputation for being energy-efficient as long as they are designed properly. It is important to use an experienced installer who carries out a full heat loss calculation of your home before installation, recommending the correct size of heat pump for your home and your needs.
  • Can an Air Source Heat Pump be Used for Cooling My Home?
Air source heat pumps are widely known for heating homes and providing hot water, but they can also be reversed and cool your home too! During the summer months, reversing the heat pump will remove heat from your rooms and expel this hot air through the heat pump fan, leaving cooler air indoors.
  • Do Air Source Heat Pumps Require Servicing?
We recommend an annual service to ensure your heat pump works efficiently and to increase longevity. This include evaluating the system for problems, cleaning the filters, and monitoring the refrigerant levels.
  • Can Air Source Heat Pumps Work With Solar Panels?
Absolutely! Air source heat pumps use electricity to work, so if you can produce your own electricity via solar panels, this will reduce your electricity bill.
  • Which Size Heat Pump Do I Need?
When you contact us to arrange a survey, we will complete a heat loss assessment of your home which dictates the size of heat pump required. If you have a small home which is well insulated, a small heat pump will generally be sufficient. However, if you have a large home or little to no insulation, a larger heat pump will be needed to sufficiently heat your home. We will recommend the right size for your home and your needs.
  • How Does an Air Source Heat Pump Work in Winter?
Air Source Heat Pumps take heat out of the outdoor air, amplify it using a refrigerant and then transfer this indoors. When outdoor temperatures drop below freezing, there is still some heat available to remove and amplify, so they are capable of providing heat even in cold temperatures. Air Source Heat Pumps are designed to work effectively down to -25 C.
  • Can an Air Source Heat Pump Work With My Existing Radiators?
A heat pump engineer will carry out a heat loss survey during your initial consultation which will help to establish if your existing radiators will be a sufficient size to work with a new heat pump. Sometimes, larger radiators will be recommended to ensure optimal efficiency of the heating system.
